Kate Woodhouse

Kate worked in local government for over twenty years before becoming a consultant. Originally from Swansea, she has worked in Welsh and English authorities, both district and unitary. Kate has worked in waste management and has extensive experience in delivering integrated environmental services. She has developed waste management strategies and been involved in community engagement, social marketing and waste enforcement. Her work on waste minimisation and recycling led to involvement in a variety of complementary environmental issues including sustainability concerns, green procurement, environmental education and community engagement.

More recently, Kate has headed a successful waste enforcement team and been particularly interested in how streetscene projects contribute to the night-time economy, help support high quality shopping and tourism and are an integral part of the place-shaping agenda. She has extensive experience of cross-agency working, with Environment Agency, police and fire services, retail partners and traders, as well as cross-departmental working within authorities. With the voluntary sector, Kate has been involved with a number of groups, providing training, helping with grant funding, and working with partners in delivering minimisation, re-use and education projects.
