Oliver Morley
Oliver has worked for ValueAdding.com for four years, and in that time has led projects in a range of local authority environments. These include developing the operational processes, structure and staffing requirement for an in-sourced service of 200 people. Conducting and implementing a number of improvement projects within development management environments. He has also led a number of collaborative benchmarking projects between councils, covering issues as diverse as social transport, HR and recruitment, and planning. Prior to working for ValueAdding.com Oliver was the policy adviser to the political leadership of Nottingham City Council. He has substantial experience of developing and implementing policy, working at the cutting edge of policy formulation and lobbying in a large Core City authority. Closely involved in developing priorities, he played a significant role in the budget setting processes for the City Council to support council priorities. In a previous role he was the lead officer for Bassetlaw's Local Strategic Partnership, providing experience of working within both a large core city authority and a district authority. In earlier roles he has experience of management within a call centre environment for a FTSE 100 company, as well as face to face customer services experience. Oliver is currently studying for an MSc in Development Management, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. About OliverOliver lives in Colchester with his partner Jo who works for the NHS. Originally from the North-East he retains a firm, but increasingly thankless hope that one day informing people he supports Darlington Football Club will not result in laughter and incomprehension. When not lamenting Darlington's fate, he enjoys pursuing other borderline anti social activity. Spending too much time reading across a wide range of subjects, listening to podcasts whilst commuting, and enjoying creative data representations. Keen to understand the areas he works in, he is fond of catching late trains following client visits to explore local highlights (Bolton museum, St Albans cathedral, Borough market). He also retains an interest in History and Politics - the subject of his degree. A keen fan of travel and challenges, he took part in the Mongol rally in 2007, has completed the three peaks, and harbours an ambition to cycle Alpe D'Huez. |
