Sylvia Brown

Sylvia has been working part time as an Associate with ValueAdding since 2007. In that time she has worked with a number of different local authorities around the UK helping them to identify areas to focus on improving business processes, analysing different options for process redesign, mapping new ways of working and evaluating performance.

She enjoys helping organisations in the public sector analyse business processes and find sustainable improvements that benefit staff, the business and the customer.

Prior to working for ValueAdding Sylvia worked as a Management Consultant in PwC's public sector practice for four years and then transferred her skills overseas, working in the charity sector in Thailand for another four years.

Sylvia is currently studying for a PhD in Development Studies at SOAS university.

About Sylvia

Sylvia lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire. She is currently trying to finish her PhD thesis and spends much of her time analysing Burma's politics and youth involvement in civil war, which is the focus of her studies.

Students need frequent breaks so she also spends a lot of time running and cycling around the Cheshire countryside. She enjoys triathlons and endurance events and spends much of the week training with a triathlon club.

When she finds time, Sylvia also enjoys travelling and reading.
