Learning Objectives

Many public sector organisations are now looking to develop selected in-house services into ones which can not only deliver for the council but might also expand their remit to work for other organisations on a commercial basis. By spinning them out and releasing them from full council control they also hope to reduce the cost burden on the council.

This course aims to give those managers a sense of how important these costs are and how they might be calculated. Knowing your costs might be an important factor in determining your price or even in determining their operational strategy.

It gives an insight into the commercial world and points delegates in the right direction when making decisions that will affect their whole business outlook.
