Programme & Project Management are undoubtedly a recognised and essential skill sets in there own right. Some would argue that a good project manager should be capable of running projects whatever the context and whatever the deliverables. We would however, add to this statement, in our opinion an overly generic view. Our experience has shown that cultural and subject matter understanding, especially of the public sector, adds greatly to the ability of a project manager to deliver targeted benefits on time and to budget.

Consequently we have trained and developed a team of experienced, professionally qualified Project Managers initially with the intention of ensuring our own, in-house capability to follow through to delivery from our Business Process Improvement work. Now we’re making that expertise more widely available for Councils that find themselves short of either capacity or the right levels of expertise to handle the multiple and complex projects they are managing in today’s challenging environment.

The team’s own expertise and that of its senior management all reflects our specific focus on Public Sector change and improvement, not just Project management as a “stand-alone” discipline. As well as ensuring the immediate Project Management tasks are carried out efficiently, they look to ensure effective skills transfer and development amongst the wider team, ensuring that managerial good practice is allied with real focus on delivering sustainable change.
