Comprehensive Area Assessment
From CPA to CAA
Since
the announcement of the replacement of CPA with the new Comprehensive Area
Assessment from 2009 there has been plenty of discussion about its likely
impact on local authorities and its partners.
It is clear that CAA will see a drive
towards closer working with partners and an expectation that they be
prepared to change the way services are delivered. Whilst this clearly
presents challenges, it also presents opportunities to address the key
issues facing residents and also the ability to free up money through
constructive cost reductions. This can then be realigned to public
priorities or used to ease the burden on local taxation, providing the
opportunity to both increase efficiency and ensure greater public
satisfaction with public services.
